Super Junior 5th Anniversary Fan Party

Sunday, November 7, 2010

I should have been a better plus more aggressive fan. This is when i regret not being that crazy and assertive. I could've been there, this is what keeps repeating in my head now. I could've been one of the many (10000) sapphire blue light sticks held up high with pride, love, happiness and dedication to the great creation that is Super Junior! They debuted in Inkigayo on November 6, 2005 and yesterday was their 5th anniversary November 6, 2010. They celebrated the special day with official (daw) fanclub members - official ELF! :) They're practically the huge chunk inspiring me endlessly coming NoOther than to Korea! I can't change this now can I? So, instead let me do a video, article, photo, tweet spam to cheer myself up a bit. Updates can surely continue for days!

The next few posts consists entirely of broadcasted performances from the Hallyu Dream Concert.
I must add that those that you see on TV are not complete.
The only performances that broadcasted fully by channel SBS were Super Junior, Se7en, SHINee and 2PM.
No fret, for those that i have complete fancams of I shall upload. But please be patient since I am exactly the world's fastest. :)
Enjoy the videos!

Late Nights, Early Get-ups

Okay so more on the backtracking of events and photos.

1. Trip to Gyeongju for the Hallyu Dream Concert.
Location: Gyeongju
Weather: Rain-Sun-Rain-Sun
Last week we went to a Korean province that was like 5 hours away by bus.
We came for the one obvious reason - a concert!
Free for foreigners plus the biggest acts in the Kpop industry!
But more on that later. Quite disappointing really that night.

So, now Gyeongju. Its said to be a cultural province of Korea. You want traditional, this is the best location. Temple roofed houses and numerous roads lined with little restaurants. They were famous for their ginseng chicken which we didn't get a taste of. And one thing you won't miss while wandering around the brick lines roads is their local specialty: Barley Bread. (I'm disappointed wasn't able to buy some. Emphasizing the fact that Bread and I share a strong bond.)

Stayed in HanJin Hostel. Seriously, the online information on their website sounds better than it actually was. Well, structuraly - yes, the owner's son (i think) made the stay a bit better since he was so helpful. Nothing much to add though since we weren't able to tour around all the historical places around the area. I wanted to see the flower garden and the lotus pond but time was just limited. Got some beautiful pictures though from the ancient tombs and park. Walking around the tourist spots of the park I remember the lectures in my History 18 class where Mr. Lozada told us the story of the Sauromatians - a tribe in antiquity which resembled the Amazonians or maybe actually be them. Just take a look at the photos. Weather was not very nice though with the numerous drizzles.

Here's a photo of our dinner that day. After all that searching for our friends who got lost, it was a bit irritating i must add, just ask me personally why if you guys are interested. WE WERE SO HUNGRY.

Kimchi-chigae (Kimchi Stew)

The baggage for this trip

Day of the concert!

Waited for a good 6 hours just to get in.

New friends Tasi and Gina from Germany who are avid Hottests and idolize Taecyeon.

More photos in the concert's stadium plus the show proper.

Fancams

Concert schedule was 7:00PM - 10:00PM but nope. We left at 10:30-ish. And still evidently no Super Junior. Not even the performances of 2AM and SHINee! This is where most of the utmost disappointment comes in. But at least we made our 4-hour train, the last train out of Gyeongju that night to Seoul.

xoxo

Seoul Station was definitely the answer.

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

Location: Seoul
Weather: Freezing cold winds outside

Its that number of heavy flows in month, if you get what i mean. Yuck i really don't like the feeling especially when i get abdominal pain a lot. I purchased korean napkins which was promoted as a bulk box buy - both regulars and overnights. They're VERY thin but pretty good quality. As to why i'm writing about this i don't know, just a little FYI i suppose. :)

Today was jampacked with schedules. I only had two classes today: Global and Intercultural Identities and International Business Law.
* Just a little note: how can globalization's ideal of having a mulitculturalistic world be achieved when trend sprout up in parts of the whole, i dunno, everyday? This must really pose some serious obstacles for community and the ideal utopia.

Love, love, love the price for photocopied books for Global and Intercultural Identities in additional the xerox unni was nice enough to have picked such cute colors for the front covers! As for international business law - ONLY ORIGINAL - paid a huge WWW for those books and they're so heavy but like we have a choice right? I also joined in my e-class today on Theory and Practice in Media Literacy. For those of you who finds this rather new: e-class is technically an online class where assignments, discussions on a created forum in the school's portal is held, and readings as well as videos from our professor all the way in Japan are offered especially to Ewha students. :)

Oh and for lunch i had some WARM NOODLES check it out.

Then we tried calling KORAIL to book tickets for our trip back to Seoul from Gyeongju. The information office said we couldn't use our room's phones for outside calls so she suggested the public phones just outside the dormitory convenience store. It kept rejecting our calls, ultimate NO! Anyway, we asked the IHouse information office and the unni there said the fastest way is to go to Seoul Station itself and buy our tickets there. SO WE DID LIKE LITTLE CHILDREN OBEDIENTLY FOLLOWING THE TEACHER'S INSTRUCTIONS.

Getting there: ALWAYS ride the subway!

Once we got there it was a walk full of hopeful turns - we were searching everywhere for the information area not understanding the arrows in the Seoul Station map. But we found it. The girl was nice but she told us that the trip I have continuously checked almost everyday in the KORAIL website is not available - like it was permanently sacked. NO WAY!!!! Can you just imagine the unexplainable looks on our faces?! We have to get back PRONTO before 8AM the next day to Ewha WE HAVE OUR CLASSES TO ATTEND!
* The cuts system here is different from that of ADMU.

The girl pleasantly lead us toward the ticketing counter just beside saying that they have more information. (fingers crossed) They did! The ticketing woman patiently looked for that specific trip and there it was DEPARTING GYEONGJU: 11PM ARRIVAL SEOUL: 4:22AM! Happiness plus relief went obviously through my entire face seriously. :)

With everything taken care of, it's PHOTOGRAPHY time!

Soon after taking a picture of the KORAIL i dunno what you call it, these two korean guys approached us. At first, we were hesitant. After a while, we became chingu. They said they were from this university (which up to now i still forget and couldn't pronounce) and offered to take our picture with the three of us together. How thoughtful of them to offer, I thought. But that wasn't all, soon after they asked if they could take a picture of each of us - shocker. I pushed chesca to go first since that was quite hard for me to digest. FYI, in the chit-chat, they told us they were photography majors. (This is why i couldn't grasp the idea of why would they ask a picture from us) The pictures are obviously not uploaded since they have the photo. But i really do wish I could've gotten it - seemed like a good photo taken with their professional cameras and all. A weird instance in our little chat i noticed was when I said we are exchange students from Ewha, they were amazed (went like "WOAH" with a korean tone). They did ask us as their first question where we were from - I guess we had a TOURIST post-it pasted on our faces. :) Nice experience. Oh I asked if we could take a picture with them just for you guys to see! :)

*taken by the boys

Decided to return to school after.

Here's a photo of my korean phone:

and my dinner: (very healthy i must add)

Backtracking a few first photos in Seoul.
Sorry for not updating every so often, I will put it in my brain that i actually have to update this for all of you to see.
Enjoy!
Location: Room 211 (Password: 7576*) IHouse, Ewha University, Seoul

Jinwoon (2AM) on the TV screen. It was from his guesting on Strong Heart (Kam Shin Jang). Hilarious performance which i think i have in my cellphone but uploading it later with all other videos once i get my hands on a reliable external hardrive/passport! :) Just to give a teaser, he did a drum version of their song 죽어도 못 보내 (Won't Let You Go Even If I Die) and he did this funny dance emphasizing on the fact that his armpit are spotless.

Next, all the stars in that jar where selina and rasia gave to me during their surprise visit to the airport. I'm probably compiling them in a long paper and post it so i can see which stars i can do.

Its like a long star walk to stardom (my inner desire to star in a musical or get scouted into a korean agency hehe :) )

Location: Hyundai Department Store Food Court, Seoul

You guys eaten Dokbokki? Well, it delish in all its spicy and chewy goodness. Here's a great huge plate of this korean dish from the food court. I finished the whole plate, slowly but surely, and was super full afterwards. Felt like I ate 3 days worth of rice cake carbs.

Location: Incheon, South Korea

And of course, the first official teaser to a predicted LONG post on the Incheon Music Wave. FANCAM-FANCAM-FANCAM scream!

Look at the LOVE of the sapphire blue ELF sea ~ SUPER JUNIOR Jjang! (Pink- SNSD, YELLOW- BIG BANG)

Lastly,

Location: LG Convention Hall, Ewha University, Seoul

This was taken from the Exchange Students Orientation lunch buffet. Not very organized the regarding the positioning of the buffet tables and lines. BUT the selection of the food easily makes your mouth water.

A few of the things i happily chewed on: BBQ, cocktail sandwiches, sausages, bulgogi, fried rice, ham, and a veggie sidding. :)

Star #1: Get lost in Seoul

Request: Get Lost in Seoul
By: Jordane

First few days in Seoul and a ton of "adventure" as you may call it has happened.
The first officially Seoul day, August 27, was a shopoping trip aimlessly wondering around the roads newar our university.
More updates on the first day along with photos and maybe a few video clips *hopes on actually having this work :)* shall be added up soon!

Today was actually well planned out, supposedly.
I was arranged to meet the guest house's owner at Hongik University but we couldn't contact him - Philippines SIM fail *sigh*
So, with no choice left and with an aching shoulder whilst taking our first ever subway ride to Hongik University, we decided to walk.
Walk, walk and walk but getting lost along the way.
A video clip of this adventure was taken by chesca and i'll be adding it up once i get to my dorm.
More on the today, we walked around and around while trying to figure out the pixelated map in Kat's cellphone. We took a LOT of turns and we ended up at guess where....
A NEIGHBORHOOD POLICE STATION.
First day in Hongdae and we already landed right smack in a police station.
Thank God the police was this super nice ahjussi but couldn't speak english at all (as he kept saying). He phoned a local who could speak english and i think if my comprehension was right, it turned out to be the owner of the guest house we're currently staying in! :)
Then of course we had a complementary ride to the guest house finding out that we just had to go straight after the first and probably only correct turn we made in that unforgettable and back breakable stroll.

Checked-in and walked to the station this time to go to Sinchon (Ewha-Sinchon-Hongik) and went to have lunch at Hyundai Department store. Top class area, it was more like a Rustan's Department Store as compared to your typical SM everything-you-need-is-here department stores.
LUNCH: Dokbokki (a full plate of it)
I was so stuffed, that was like the largest most Dokbokki-lish serving of rice cakes ever.
Soon after we left back to the guest house as Kat was sleepy from her flight.
After dropping Kat off, we decided to go around and rounded up at a Hybrid Outlet. Translation - its a factory outlets sale of foreign brands.
Super great timing as i forgot to bring a shirt for the second day.
American Apparel. A pink one with a big stenciled eagle. For just 15000 won = around 600 pesos. Kind of equal to those bargains in Greenhills i guess.

Went back to the guest house a bit after. I couldn't take it my feet were painful nearly blister-ing and my stomach was starting to ache (i overate all that Dokbokki!).
Then its a nice slumber time until 8PM - 4 hours nap yeah!
DINNER: Pizza School Deutsche Pizza.
Super Delishioso! Bite pulls just like those in Pizza Hut. Costs 9000won. Yummy!
Thinking about it I can see my lunch for tomorrow. We couldn't chuck down 8 slices of pizza.

That's it for now, will update more information on this post soon! :)

Weather: Sunny, humid but mostly rainy.
I should take a picture of this invention they have in Korea for umbrellas in the mall. :)

xoxo.

Short but Sweet updates

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Question: What have I been busy with these days?

1. Vacation mode of course back home in Cebu!
2. Currently reading a paperback copy of Eat, Pray, Love. Hopefully i finish reading it before I resist the invitation of watching the movie! Hehehe. Wish me luck with this one!
3. E-mailing my dorm and a guest house in Korea for my stay while the graduate dorm won't be officially open.
4. Wondering if Korean clothes are really up for grabs by well, yours truly. (I am really trying to keep my hopes up on this)
5. Souvenirs up for grabs for the exchange program.
6. Checking up possible minors in the Ateneo de Manila University.
7. Everyday laptop-ing (officially a word in my dictionary) and browsing around the internet.
8. Reading articles regarding restaurants and cute cafes around Seoul.

What else?

I'm trying to get into better appearance for this educational trip. Stressing on the TYRING here. Gotta pull myself harder! Good luck Myself, Me, I, My.

Maybe learning steps to No Other will do or them new music videos out in the recent posts of Kpop in my blog. :)

Enjoy the weekdays guys!

Super Junior releases No Other official MV!

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

This is a very SUPER DUPER special entry I will be posting to celebrate the release of Super Junior's MV for the title track of their BONAMANA repackage album, No Other. Loving the light concept of course! Obviously reminded the fans and certainly me of the Happiness MV which was the first ever MV i watched from Super Junior and since then loving them among all the KPOP bands! :P I couldn't count how many in-love-sighs i made while watching this for the first time (when i saw it in SMent's channel it had just around 302 views)! :P Certainly this video will bolt up in to my favorite Super Junior videos list!

Watch it here on the official channel of SMent:

AND ENJOY! :P

Apologies to the blog since I have been taking a rather long hiatus juggling JTA semester's work loads! I shall try to post continuous updates real soon! And to add: I probably might include KPOP related news on this blog as well plus other things that I find very entertaining! :P So watch out for these!

May, dearest little sister! :P

May!!

Happy Birthday!!! :D Since you’re not in Cebu on your special day we decided to make you a compilation of videos and messages... you do so much for us on our special days, and I think that it is our turn to do something for you... Sorry I didn’t make a video, I’m too shy... hahahaha... I figure I can say a lot more with a messageJ...

I’ve learned one thing over the years, time really flies. It seems like it was only yesterday we were in third year. Since we left high school and started college we’ve been really busy with school work and all that stuff. But despite that we always find time to chat and catch up. Now you’re 18 and soon I’ll be 18 too. Time will continue to go on and bring us new experiences. And as soon as you know it it’ll be 10 years from now and we’ll be on that eurotrip we’ve been dreaming of. Hahahaha... As time continues I know that we will have a lot of LEGEN-wait for it-DARY adventures and our friendship will just continue to grow stronger... I just can’t wait to see what adventures life will bring us... BRING IT ON! Hahahaha...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY again, and have a great one. We must go out when you get back. Hahahaha
